Banks want rule change in Basel III endgame to lower capital costs of clearing UST repos

Banks are increasingly confident that US banking regulators’ revised Basel III endgame proposal, due to be published next week, will avoid raising capital requirements for cleared portfolios that include US Treasury repos alongside other interest rate products.
