European Commission already preparing next FRTB move

As EC runs out powers to delay rules again, proposal for temporary capital relief is on the agenda

The European Commission is preparing a legal act that will introduce temporary changes to future trading book capital rules, according to four industry sources familiar with the plans.

The move is the only easily applied tool available to the legislator to avoid dealers in the bloc being left at a disadvantage to US rivals not subject to the same rules.
