Smooth start for CFTC’s re-jigged swap reporting rules

No problems yet, but some warn of potential pitfalls ahead with package trades and margin reporting

The US Commodity Future Trading Commission’s updated swaps data reporting and record-keeping rules went live on December 5 without any major complications, market participants report – though some experts say it will take months for a full picture of the rollout to emerge.
