Asian financial market participants are being warned to expect more extraterritorial intervention by US regulators under the administration of Donald Trump, despite his early pledges to roll back the Dodd-Frank Act.

"Both Brexit and the election of Donald Trump certainly indicate the rise of populism, [and] as a consequence of that, you could get more extraterritoriality rather than less, because markets are going to be concerned about importing risk into their marketplace," said Larry Thompson
