Will hedge funds become retail products in the US?

Jeff Benjamin looks at why the MFA is proposing limited advertising to the general public, while categorically stating it has no intention to sell to retail investors

Contrary to some of the grumbling now sweeping through the US mutual funds industry, the Managed Funds Association (MFA), a Washington-based trade group that represents much of the alternative investments industry in the US including hedge funds, says it is definitely not pushing to make hedge funds available to retail-class investors.
