Hong Kong finance chief warns on risks from ‘shadow’ finance sector

Hong Kong's financial services chief warned today (January 20) of the danger of a buildup of transferred risk in the unregulated financial sector.

Speaking at the Asian Financial Forum today in Hong Kong, KC Chan, Hong Kong‘s secretary for financial services and the treasury, said the transmission of risks from regulated to unregulated entities has serious ramifications for the financial system as a whole.
