Spectron launches iron ore desk
Commodities brokerage Spectron has launched an iron ore trading desk covering global iron ore swaps markets.
"The iron ore swaps market has been expanding significantly in recent months as buyers and sellers continue to move away from annual contracts and realise the hedging benefits swaps can bring," says John Evans, director of business development at Spectron Group.
Based in London, the desk will be headed by Paul Temple, who previously worked as a metals and iron ore trader at Macquarie Bank.
London has seen a flurry of activity in the iron ore market with interdealer broker Icap setting up an iron
