BIS names new secretary general

Dittus, joined the BIS in 1992 as an economist, and following several internal posts was named deputy secretary general in 2000. He now takes responsibility for the provision of corporate services within the BIS.

Before joining the BIS, Dittus was an economist at the World Bank and the OECD. He holds a doctorate in economics from Saarbrücken University and diplomas in economics from Saarbrücken University and the University of Michigan.
