Barroso urges EU-US regulatory convergence
José Manuel Barroso singled out regulatory and standards convergence as key areas for EU-US relations
In a speech to business leaders at the European Business Summit, European Commission president José Manuel Barroso singled out regulatory and standards convergence as key areas for deeper co-operation between the EU and the US, which would help both sides of the Atlantic to better shape globalisation.
Barroso said he would seek to build even closer relations with the US at a summit scheduled for April 30 in Washington, DC: "I am actively working with chancellor Merkel to make concrete steps
