European regulators state concern over supervisory review process for mergers and acquisitions

CEBS, CESR and CEIOPS’ letter to the EC outline problems with the current draft of cross-border consolidation proposals.

Three European regulators have stated alarm over the European Commission’s proposals to improve the cross-border mergers and acquisitions supervisory review process in the banking, insurance and securities sector.

The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS), the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) and the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors
