Hedge funds are a danger to pensions, says US senator
Chuck Grassley, chairman of the US Senate's finance committee, has warned that "secretive" hedge funds are endangering US pension schemes.
In a letter sent yesterday to the US treasury secretary Henry Paulson, Grassley said he was "deeply concerned about the lack of publicly available information regarding hedge funds".
