Banks should standardise CDS indexes, says credit derivatives panel

“I think that makes sense,” said Javier Martin-Artajo, global head of credit derivatives trading at Italian bank Banca Intesa, in response to a question asking if bankers should be pushing for more standardisation in CDS indexes.

“If we stop this war between the Morgans and the rest of us, I think this will increase liquidity,” he added. He was referring to the Trac-x CDS index, which was created by JP Morgan Chase and Morgan Stanley.
