EC’s McCreevy looks to integration

BRUSSELS -- Charlie McCreevy, the new director general of the internal markets directorate at the European Commission (EC), kicked off his first month in office with a series of speeches on the importance of reinforcing the integration of the EU’s financial services sector.

When it comes to Basel II and other EU directives, McCreevy is putting an emphasis on aligning domestic rulemaking and legislation across the EU as much as possible.
