What's happening and when
The final version of the Basel II Accord was published by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision on June 26, 2004. Implementation of the BIA and STA is due at end-2006, while the deadline for AMA was extended until end-2007.
BASEL II
• The Accord Implementation Group has officially turned its op risk working group into a sub-group of the AIG. It is headed by Kevin Bailey, deputy comptroller at the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In turn, the sub group has three working groups – on corporate governance, data and modelling.
• The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has created another subgroup of the Accord Implementation Group, to focus on corporate governance. The new group is headed by Danièle Nouy
