SOCA kicks off

The new UK Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) launched itself with a review of the way in which suspicious activity reports (SARs) are handled. A government report, published in April, recommended that Soca should take overall responsibility for the effective functions of the SARs regime. The report makes 24 recommendations, including the improvement of the underpinning IT, improving training and guidance, and facilitating better dialogue between the regime's participants.
