FBE head criticises CEBS performance

LONDON - The head of the European Banking Federation (FBE) sharply criticised the performance of the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) at the Compliance Europe conference at the start of November.

Guido Ravoet, secretary general of the association, expressed serious concerns about the future working programme for CEBS. "CEBS has released a good number of guidelines, mostly for specific aspects of the Capital Requirements Directive," he said. "This has been helpful in many cases, but some problems have also become apparent, in notably two areas."
