LONDON - Meeting the requirements of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment (Icaap) is not just a compliance issue, it is good business practice, say experts. The Icaap, part of Basel II, includes an assessment of the adequacy of a firm's risk management processes.

But there are signs that the Icaap is being considered simply a compliance issue, rather than a vehicle for gaining business benefit. It has been reported that some authorised companies have failed to complete their Icaap and others
