Industry urges caution in capital disclosure

Tensions are emerging between European regulators and the insurance industry, as Solvency II discussions start looking at how much detail the market should be given about a company's solvency capital position. A working group from the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS) met in Rome on 21-22 November to discuss this issue, following publication of a consultation paper in December.
