CEBS extends the deadline for responses to questionnaire on large exposures

The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) has granted an extension to the deadline for industry to comment on the EC’s call for advice on large-exposure rules following industry concerns related to the tight timeline. The revised deadline is now June 16, 2006.

The questionnaire aims to cover the full range of banking and trading activities. Questions have been devised to give consideration to the needs of both small and large institutions.

Based on the results of the questionnaire, CEBS will publish a report on industry practices and thinking in relation to the measurement and management of concentration risk.

The information collected should allow for assessments as to whether revisions in the current rules are warranted.
