CFTC energy markets committee members announced

Members of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s new Energy Markets Advisory Committee (EMAC) have been named.

The purpose of EMAC is to provide a public forum for representatives to discuss emerging issues affecting the energy markets, and the role the CFTC plays in these markets under the Commodity Exchange Act. The first meeting is scheduled for June 10, 2008.

The 25-strong committee includes representatives from utilities, investment banks and commodity exchanges. Among the members are Mike Prokop, the executive vice president of Amerex; Bob Anderson, executive director of the Committee of Chief
