BoNY plans to relocate data centres outside New York

NEW YORK -- Bank of New York (BoNY) plans to locate both its data processing centres outside New York and seek more telecommunications routing options following the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York's financial district.

BoNY, one of the world's biggest processors of securities trades, was highlighted in the press as the one bank whose crucial services to global investors were badly disrupted by the attacks, while in general the back-up systems and disaster recovery plans
