US Banks Leading Year 2000 Effort, Says Goldman Report


NEW YORK--A research report released by Goldman Sachs claims that US banks are leading the world in tackling the risks surrounding the encroaching new millennium. The report, titled Banking and Year 2000: Why Investors Should Care, summarizes the views of institutions that attended a conference on the Year 2000 issue sponsored by Goldman, including Chase Manhattan Bank, Citibank, National City, EDS, BankBoston and Northern Trust.

The key message emerging from the conference is to approach Year
