Regulators to publish interim papers on Basle II issues

Global banking regulators plan to issue working papers for discussion over the next few months on most, if not all, the issues that concern major banks about the proposed Basle II capital accord.

Officials with the Basle Committee on Banking Supervision, the body that in effect regulates international banking, confirmed that committee chairman William McDonough replied in those terms to a joint letter from banking federations representing banks in the Group of 10 (G-10) leading economies.
