UK Government Releases Year 2000 Study As Experts Warn Of EMU Clash

THE UK's Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency has released a six-volume report dealing with Year 2000 compliance issues. Industry observers say the report is the first major Year 2000 initiative by a government agency. Separately, two groups of consultants have warned that the need to tackle Year 2000 is likely to derail European Monetary Union, as financial institutions will face difficulties in upgrading their software on both fronts.
