Credit rating agency debate flares

Washington, DC – The US debate over the role and regulation of credit rating agencies is hotting up, with publication by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of a concept release at the beginning of June. The release is designed to elicit feedback from the industry about credit rating agencies, in preparation for the creation of a set of proposed rules by the SEC, perhaps later in the year.
