Disaffection for Sarbanes-Oxley rises with compliance efforts


LONDON -- A new Pricewaterhouse-Coopers (PwC) survey indicates that executives at US-based multinational companies hold increasingly unfavourable views of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. In addition, a greater number of survey respondents report higher compliance costs than initially anticipated.

Of the 136 executives surveyed, nearly 70% expressed overall unfavourable reactions to Sarbanes-Oxley, with almost half of those respondents saying the act’s compliance costs to companies will prove unduly
