THE risk management operations of the US's Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) and Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) have been given a clean bill of health by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (Ofheo).

Ofheo's 1996 annual regulatory report to Congress includes detailed analyses of Freddie Mac's and Fannie Mae's business activities and financial condition.

It also summarizes Ofheo's recent regulatory activities, including development of a risk
