Hong Kong warrants see steady first week

By the end of last week, 99 new warrants had listed on the exchange following resumption of trading in the Special Administrative Region (SAR) after a seven-month layoff.

Turnover reached its peak last Friday, hitting HK$348 million ($44.6 million), or 5.48% of total daily turnover, from a mere 1.39% on the first day of trading last Monday. Prior to the halt in trading last June, warrants had accounted for between 5% to 10% of total market turnover a day.
