Cebs announces banking transparency hearing
EU Pillar III disclosures to receive scrutiny at a Cebs hearing on bank transparency
LONDON - The Committee of European Banking Supervisors (Cebs) has said it will organise a public hearing to discuss the findings of its follow-up work assessing the transparency of European Union banks.
Cebs will present the findings of its analysis of the disclosures provided by banks in their 2008 audited annual reports and under Pillar III of the EU's Capital Requirements Directive. It will also invite the industry to present its views on its preliminary conclusions and on any related measures.
Cebs says an agenda will be uploaded in mid-May, possibly accompanied by a discussion paper. The hearing will take place at Cebs in London on May 28 at 10.00am. Registrations should be received by Wednesday, May 20.
