Against a backdrop of funding stress and sovereign risk contagion, Santander has topped Risk España's overall house table for the second year running. The gap between it and its main domestic rival, BBVA, remains tight - 0.2% this year, compared with a similarly slender 0.1% in 2010 - but the gap between the two Spanish banks and the chasing pack has grown considerably. There's a full five points between BBVA and third-placed Barclays, which took 10.1% as it nudged Société Générale into fourth
