Nomura shuffles risk methodology team

Epperlein takes advisory role six months after Japanese bank’s FRTB IMA go-live

Nomura has appointed a new global head of risk methodology to replace industry veteran Eduardo Epperlein, who held the role for 15 years, according to a spokesperson for the Japanese bank.  

The role has now shifted from London to Tokyo, where Tomomitsu Nakamura took the reins in mid-September. He was previously the bank’s head of risk methodology group for Japan. Meanwhile, Epperlein has taken on
