HSBC names new head of markets for Europe

Head of credit Niall Cameron will replace Thibaut de Roux as head of markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Credit to be combined with emerging markets and rates under Elie El Hayek.

HSBC has picked Niall Cameron to lead its markets business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea). Cameron, currently the bank's London-based head of credit, will take on the role from June 15, according to an internal memo.

He replaces Thibaut de Roux, who was promoted to head of global markets at the start of May. De Roux himself replaced Jose-Luis Guerrero, who has become head of the global banking and markets division for Emea – a new position.
