Barclays appoints chief operations and technology officer

New role created by strategic review

Shaygan Kheradpir is Barclays' new chief operations and technology officer.

The bank created the new role as part of its strategic review, according to Antony Jenkins, group chief executive.

The review, released last month, came after a turbulent period for the bank following its involvement in the Libor fixing scandal. Barclays suffered a $450 million penalty for its role in market manipulation.
