Martin Currie reorganises its Japan desk

Japan fund manager Keith Donaldson who was responsible for the running of the firm's recently launched long/short hedge fund, has left to be head of European sales of Japanese product at Merrill Lynch.

Two senior fund managers Kevin Troop, formerly head of the Japan desk at Scottish Life, and John Millar, formerly of Colonial Stewart Ivory have been recruited. Also, Mikiko Ida will join as researcher of small-cap stocks in the region. All three will contribute ideas to the running of the
