Fifth senior employee to depart SEC following resignation of SEC's chair

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced the departure of Robert Khuzami, its enforcement director. He is expected to leave at the end of January.

Khuzami was appointed in 2009 by former SEC chair Mary Shapiro, who left the regulator on December 14, 2012.

Since the announcement of Shapiro's resignation, several other senior SEC staff have left: corporation finance director Meredith Cross; trading and markets director Robert Cook; general counsel Mark Cahn; and most
