Christy Romero appointed after approval from President and Senate

The Office for the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (Sigtarp) has appointed Christy Romero as special inspector general. This follows her nomination for the position by President Barack Obama on February 1, and her confirmation by the US Senate on March 29.

Romero will be responsible for leading Sigtarp's investigations of fraud, waste and abuse in conjunction with the Troubled Asset Relief Program (Tarp). She was previously deputy special inspector general from
