
Nomura hires new Americas debt chief

Nomura has recruited Jim Merli to be its head of debt origination and debt syndicate for the Americas.
In his newly created role, Merli will be based in New York and report to Charles Spero and Jeff Michaels, joint heads of fixed income for the Americas, and Glenn Schiffman, head of investment banking, Americas.
Merli joins Nomura from Barclays Capital, where he was head of US primary market fixed income syndication from October 2008 to early May 2010, since when he has been on gardening leave
