Legal & General creates CRO role

London-based insurer and annuity specialist Legal & General (L&G) has promoted Andrea Blance to the new role of group chief risk officer, subject to approval by the UK Financial Services Authority. Blance will take up her new role in August, reporting to the group's chief financial officer, Nigel Wilson, and will work closely with its risk committee.

Blance has worked at the firm in various roles in a 25-year career as an L&G stalwart, most recently as group financial controller at the firm.
