
Aegon appoints new UK CRO
The Hague-based insurer Aegon has appointed Charles Garthwaite as the new chief risk officer of its Edinburgh-based UK subsidiary.
Garthwaite former CRO Mark Laidlaw, who took on the newly created role of director of Solvency II at the group's head office in February, and will report directly to the UK chief executive officer, Otto Thorensen.
Garthwaite joins from London-based buy-out firm Assent Financial, where he was chief executive officer after founding it in October 2008. He was previously
