
HSBC names Islamic finance chief
HSBC has appointed William Ross as its co-head of Islamic finance. The new role is in addition to his existing responsibilities as head of the bank’s financing solutions group for Asia-Pacific. Ross will continue to be based in Hong Kong, and will report to Stephen Williams, head of DCM, and Mukhtar Hussain, chief executive of HSBC Amanah, the firm’s Islamic finance arm.
Ross joined HSBC in September 2005 as director of asset-backed securities, having previously worked as head of ABS research
