The International Swaps and Derivatives Association has named industry veteran Connie Voldstad as its new chief executive, replacing Robert Pickel. Voldstad took over at the end of November, with Pickel, chief executive since January 2001, staying with Isda in the newly created post of executive vice-chairman.

Voldstad joined JP Morgan in 1974, where he set up and headed the bank’s global swap desk, widely credited with trading the first zero-coupon swap in 1984. But operational and back-office
