Fed names Parkinson as banking supervision head

Patrick Parkinson has taken over as director of the banking supervision and regulation division at the US Federal Reserve Board. He was previously the deputy director of the research and statistics division.

Parkinson has worked in the research and statistics division for most of his career, and also served as the manager of financial analysis for the banking supervision and regulation division from 1986 to 1988. Parkinson was a financial markets adviser to Fed chairmen Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke from 1993 to 2008. He replaces Roger Cole, who retired in August.
