Buy-side risk specialist leaves MSIM for new academic career

Leading expert on buy-side portfolio risk management Bernd Scherer is leaving Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) in London to join the Edhec Business School in January.

At MSIM, Scherer was managing director and global head of quantitative finance. In his new academic role he will be a professor of finance, with a focus on quantitative asset allocation, both tactical and strategic, real assets and sovereign wealth funds.

The hire is a boost for Edhec's stated ambition to cement a place
