AIG picks non-exec chairman


American International Group (AIG) has elected Harvey Golub as a non-executive chairman, following the retirement of chairman and CEO Edward Liddy.

Golub, a director of the insurance firm, assumed his new role on August 10, having been elected to the board in May. He was chairman and CEO of financial firm American Express from 1993 to 2001, prior to which he was a senior partner at management consultancy McKinsey & Co.
