Obama anoints new PBGC chair

President Obama has named David Strauss as chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, replacing outgoing chairman Todd Gardenhire.

Strauss was a former executive director of the PBGC from 1997 to 2001 and also served as deputy chief of staff to vice president Al Gore between 1994 and 1997, developing policy options and advising the vice president on economic and domestic policy issues including retirement security.
