RBS loses chief risk officer

Peter Nathanial, chief risk officer at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), left the bank on July 1. He joined RBS in June 2007, following 17 years in risk management positions at Citigroup, including head of global risk oversight and chief risk officer for the bank's asset management, insurance and alternative investments businesses.

Nathanial's tenure at RBS coincided with the difficult takeover of parts of ABN Amro in October 2007, which together with losses on holdings of US collateralised debt
