EIIB hires for new Bahrain office

The London-based European Islamic Investment Bank (EIIB) has hired Toby Lanyon as general manager for its newly opened Bahrain office. Lanyon joins from Nomura Investment Banking in Bahrain where he was head of equity derivatives marketing, Middle East.

EIIB is the first independent sharia compliant Islamic bank to be authorised by the Financial Services Authority in the UK.

In his new role Lanyon will be responsible for building the marketing and sales team for EIIB in the GCC. The bank expects to staff up to around 10 sales and marketing professionals offering institutional, as well as private clients, capital-protected structured products
