Hervouet to head commodities for BNP Paribas in Asia

Frederic Hervouet has been appointed as head of commodity investor derivatives (CID) Asia for BNP Paribas, reporting to Lionel Semonin, global head of CID. The position is a new one for the bank, reflecting the extension of the bank's business to include investors other than corporates. Five of the 20-strong commodities team in Asia are on the non-corporate investor side, with plans to increase that number.

Hervouet will be based in Singapore and from Diapason Commodities Management, where he was global head of sales in Switzerland and contributed to the marketing of commodity indexes, most notably the Rogers International Commodity Index. Prior to that, he worked for a number of hedge fund managers, after starting his career in derivatives trading in 1996.
