DME appoints new CEO

The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) has appointed Thomas Leaver as chief executive.

Leaver, formerly chief operating officer of the company, will replace current CEO Gary King within the next few months. King will continue to work closely with Leaver by overseeing the operations at the exchange.

After an encouraging first year of trading, the move is part of the DME's preparations for the next stage in its development, says the exchange.
