Duke-Cinergy names management

The executive team that will lead the newly merged US energy giants Cinergy and Duke Energy was announced on November 18, subject to board approval. Duke chairman and chief executive Paul Anderson (pictured) will become chairman of the new entity, while James Rogers, Cinergy's chairman and CEO, will become president and chief executive.

Duke Energy's current president, Fred Fowler, will be chief executive of the merged firm's gas businesses. David Hauser, currently chief financial officer for Duke Energy, is to be the merged company's CFO. Many of the other top jobs have also been decided. Paul Barry, currently Duke's M&A boss, will lead Duke Energy Americas. Julie Dill, Duke's VP for shareholder and investor relations fills the same role at the merged firm. Lynn Good, chief financial officer at Cinergy, will lead the treasury function. Marc Manly, Cinergy's legal chief, will take on the same role at the new firm, and Jim Mogg, Cinergy's chief development officer, becomes advisor to the chairman.
